A very warm welcome to our website!
You'll find information here about our ancient and beautiful church, our services and organisations, our music, and the ways in which we serve this community of Norton, Batemoor and Jordanthorpe, along with our ecumenical partners at Meadowhead Christian Fellowship.
We are broad and inclusive with a strong musical tradition and offer a warm welcome to all who wish to share the journey of faith with us. We worship every Sunday at 8.00, 10.30 am and 6.15pm and we would be delighted to welcome you.
In the news...
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Peter, our former organist and choirmaster at St James' Norton, at home on Saturday, 10th November. His funeral will be in church at 2.30pm on Thursday, 22nd Nov, St Cecilia's Day.
The summer fair in July was a great success, and a grand total of £600 was raised. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
Grant of £6500 to the Organ Fund
We have been successful in our bid to the J Pilling Trust and have been awarded £6,500. This brings the total money raised for the organ to £18,000, and means that we will be able to start work much sooner than we expected.

New Lights in the Churchyard
The original lights in the churchyard were installed in the 1960's and had not worked for a long time.
Last year, the church had an opportunity to apply for funding to renew them. An application was submitted and was successful, and the new lights were installed during February.
